Partnerships between Artists in Residence and Primary Teacher Education students

The School of Education at Murdoch University has been commissioned to run a project to:

develop Teaching Artists for the Australian Curriculum: The Artsdevelop and publish digital materials for student teachers who will be primary generalist teachers (and potentially for other teachers)

collaboratively teach – Teaching Artists and Murdoch University staff – primary student teachers
The project runs from January 2014 to January 20162014 – Summer School; materials development; teaching Winter and Semester 22015 – Summer School; additional materials development; teaching Winter and Semester 22016 – Summer School.
The project is a Partnership with Australia Council for the Arts and delivered through ArtsEdge, the strategic arts in education partnership between the Department of Culture and the Arts (DCA) and the Department of Education (DoE)
The AiR Grants Program provides project funding to support artist-in-residence activity in Western Australian public schools and universities (Faculties of Education) and to improve students' access to high quality arts in education programs, and leading to the development of effective teaching methods and practices for the arts in this state.
